The graphic follows is a «smart scheme» Natural Gas Processing for the versatility that gives understanding the different stages through the gas from its extraction in the well until delivery which may occur through various products which in turn can be early stages of other more elaborate.
As a first step, the gas that is extracted from the well should be freed from its impurities and separated into 2 phases: the condensate refinery will go to oil and gas will continue its path for subsequent treatments which include: removal of acid gas dehydration, mercury removal, nitrogen, etc. This will allow gas to obtain a «clean» direct sale by the pipeline while the other fraction (the liquid natural gas) will go to a fractionation unit following (as the Pisco Fractionation Plant) for the production of ethane, propane , Butane, etc.
