The geopressures are those pressures that carry oil from a reservoir to a producing well.
When production begins, a pressure drop (geopressures) produced in the formation surrounding the well makes the oil flow through the networks of pores present in the reservoir to the extraction point.
With oil extraction and the subsequent pressure drop that occurs at the site (geopressures), oil, water and the rock expands. Changes in pressure, expansion and movement of these materials affect oil production.
