ANISOTROPY – GEOSTATISTICAL DEFINITION

Anisotropy (geostatistical): The situation where covariance models at different azimuths have different ranges; this is geometric anisotropy, e.g., correlation may be better in the strike than in the dip direction. In zonal anisotropy, ranges may be the same but the sills different.
